LeBron James wore rainbow laces, Quicken Loans Arena had a designated kiki room, Nina West was honored at center court and LGBTQ organizations benefited from the Cleveland Cavaliers’ first-ever Pride Night on March 21.

“It was surreal and amazing and the icing on the cake was LeBron wearing a rainbow shoe,” Nina said. “I mean, that is insane.”

The Cavaliers donated $10 from each Pride Night ticket to the Human Rights Campaign’s chapters in Cleveland and Columbus, as well as to Nina West’s charity fund.

The Cavs’ Pride Night comes five weeks after the Columbus Blue Jackets invited the Columbus Gay Men’s Chorus to sing the National Anthem for an National Hockey League Pride Night game at Nationwide Arena.

Cincinnati’s minor-league hockey team, the Cincinnati Cyclones, will host a Pride Night game on Thursday at US Bank Arena.

The Cincinnati Reds host a Pride Night game on the calendar for Friday, June 8.
